Coming Soon: ETIAS Visa Waiver

The New Electronic Visa Waiver For Europe

Say Hello To The European Travel Permit: ETIAS Visa Waiver

The European Union created ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) to protect and strengthen its borders. Europe’s main goal for ETIAS is to identify possible threats or risks associated with visitors traveling to any of the Schengen Area countries. It has been designed for short-term stays of up to 90 days.

Beginning mid-2025, an ETIAS travel authorization will be needed to enter a Schengen member country. It will become a mandatory requirement and visitors that do not need a visa to enter Europe will be able to register with ETIAS.

What Makes ETIAS Not A Visa?

ETIAS is not a European visa. It’s a travel authorization for non-EU nationals who do not need a visa for the Schengen Area. Still unsure if ETIAS applies to you?

Countries Which Require An ETIAS For Europe

More than 50 eligible countries will be required to submit an online ETIAS application. Meaning, if you are a citizen of one of these countries you can travel to Europe without a visa. Once approved, an ETIAS can be used for a maximum of three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. It’s important to note, those who desire to study and work in Europe or visit for more than 90 days must apply for a visa.
